Transflux for gathering, feeder and transmission lines

Transflux

A cost effective transport solution for Heavy Oil and Bitumen

Transflux has been proven to reduce the flowing viscosity of heavy oil and ultra heavy oil in pipeline applications, allowing transport of heavy oil at conventional oil viscosities.

Field Evaluation: 600 meter pipeline, 4” diameter, 60,000 cP heavy oil
Figure 1. Transflux dramatically reduces injection pressure after a short period.  Figure 2. Transflux can increase the flowing rate of heavy oil. This supports a potential capacity increase with existing infrastructure.

Transflux is injected at the beginning of the pipeline and is transported through gathering, feeder and transmission lines. The result is a conventional low-viscosity oil that eliminates high pump pressure, costly hydrocarbon diluents, or push water.

At the end of the pipeline, Transflux is easily separated using conventional oilfield separation equipment to yield the original heavy oil and the separated aqueous Transflux. The aqueous Transflux may then be recycled and reused.

When compared with other water assisted methods, Transflux will allow the transport of heavy oil at lower pressures, water cuts and temperature.

This potentially reduces the rate of corrosion. The resulting pressure reduction will reduce the overall energy required to transport heavy oil emulsion.
