What is Proflux?

Watch our video below to see the many different applications Proflux can be used:

Proflux :: 3D Flyover

“We chose to deploy the Proflux Technology on a 3 well trial.
The results were outstanding with oil rates more than doubling.”

What is Proflux?

Proflux chemistry is a family of water soluble polymers that have unique properties when in contact with heavy oils and bitumen. The Proflux solutions are made up using field-produced water.

The Proflux field-strength chemical forms a dispersion with heavy oil causing it to encapsulate heavy oil droplets and temporarily prevents coalescence. This produces a low-viscosity, highly mobile, free-flowing dispersion, which allows heavy oil to be produced and transported as if it were light conventional oil. Our technology is patented worldwide.

How does it work ?

  • Encapsulates droplets
  • The Proflux Polymer in water is typically added to heavy oils at between 25% and 30% by volume

What is the result of Proflux in Unlocking Heavy Oil?

  • Mobilizes and produces a low viscosity, free flowing dispersion by up to two orders of magnitude
  • ‘Standardizes’ all Heavy Oil and Bitumen dispersion viscosities typically to 100cP and more
  • Proflux technology is designed to be wholly compatible with existing oil production, transport and process facilities
  • Readily separates using existing separation facilities
  • Proflux polymer remains in the produced water. It can then be recycled and reused
