The Role and Position

Reporting to the Technical Centre Manager, based in Calgary, Alberta, the successful candidate will have a responsibility for the Research and Development into the application of the unique Proflux technology to heavy oil in porous media.

The job will involve; the management of multiple laboratory projects, the use and development of core flood and other porous media equipment, the generation of intellectual property and the control of environmental impacts.

This motivated and multidisciplinary individual will be capable of performing and directing detailed experimental research, reporting and presenting results internally and to customers or industry forums, and managing 3rd party or technical customer relationships.

Routine internal travel within Canada, and some international travel, will be required.

Key Skills and Knowledge - The Successful Candidate Will Have:

• Considerable experience with the set up and design of porous media laboratory equipment.

• Experience with the implementation of, and the interpretation of results from, porous media laboratory equipment.

• Practical and theoretical knowledge of the application of treatment methods in porous media including EOR, SAGD, CSS and the general stimulation processes.

• A familiarity with the process and procedures for the up-scaling of laboratory data to full field reservoir simulation.

• Experience in working with and managing 3rd party contractors of laboratory based services

• A high level of technical presentation skills.

• Some knowledge of Tar Sands.

• The ability to contribute to the OSL Bitumen activities.

Qualifications

The preferred minimum qualifications are a degree in Chemistry or Physics followed by relevant oilfield related post graduate studies.  Additional technical or business related qualifications will be an advantage.

The Field Operator position is responsible for active participation in deployment of all Oilflow Solutions field services and the maintenance of these services to the highest standard of service delivery possible. This person must be a self directed, well organized individual that can rely on self management, prioritization and planning abilities.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Strong commitment to the Oilflow QHSE culture
• Technology deployment, job execution and technical support of all ongoing field operations
• Field product and equipment inventory management and maintenance
• Daily reporting of well optimization data and well fluid sample analysis
• Daily customer relations
• Training, development and mentoring of new Oilflow field staff.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Competency Requirements

• Five years of experience in heavy oil operating, production and battery operation.
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership and team skills
• Problem solving, innovation and decision making skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with production volume reporting software, SCADA, Sharepoint and Microsoft Windows
• Considerable experience with the operation, trouble shooting, maintenance and basic repair of mechanical, hydraulic, electric and electronic equipment.
• Experience with field equipment setup including hydraulics, instrumentation, sensors and cellular communications systems.

Education, Qualifications & Training Prerequisites

• Grade 12 graduate.
• 2 year technical diploma or 4 year degree in a related field of education.
• Current H2S Alive, First Aid, TDG, WHMIS and Advanced Vehicle Control Driving Course certificates
• Class 5 driver's license with no demerits and valid in the province of Alberta or Saskatchewan (Mandatory)
• Class 1 driver's license with no demerits and valid in the province of Alberta or Saskatchewan (Preferable)

Oilflow Solutions is a rapidly growing high technology service provider to the heavy oil industry.  In support of our continued growth in the Peace River area we are looking to add a Field Superintendant to our team.

The Field Superintendant position is responsible for the overall service delivery and service quality for the assigned field location and region including the management of personnel, equipment, product supplies, local resources, budget and well performance analysis.  Heavy involvement in the forecast of activity for the location is essential to the achievement of efficient resource management.  In working with senior Oilflow management, the Field Superintendent will support a system of continuous improvement and effect the necessary changes to ensure the positive growth and evolution of the location.

This position works very closely with the Oilflow Field Sales Team and with our customers in order to provide high level technical support and to ensure the delivery of service excellence.  The Field Superintendent will actively work to ensure that all Oilflow field practices fall within the regulations of relevant governing bodies at all times and ensure that the best interests and Intellectual Property of Oilflow are protected.

The position requires forward and strategic thinking, a high level of organization, multitasking, professionalism, leadership, technical aptitude, excellent interpersonal skills and dedication to leadership in Quality, Health, Safety and the Environment.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Active participation in the Oilflow QHSE culture
• Forecasting of upcoming work in the area, resource and logistics management to support the activity level.
• Budget management for the location
• Generation of well operation plans for treatment of upcoming wells and their review with field teams and customers
• Management of field team job execution and well performance optimization for all wells in the area
• Oversight of the quality and accuracy of the daily data recorded for all wells including well fluid sample analyses.
• New technology development and continuous improvement of existing applications
• Provision of technical support to customers and Oilflow Field Sales Team
• Training, development and mentoring of all new Oilflow field operations staff

Education, Qualifications & Training Prerequisites

• Minimum 8 years conventional multi-well heavy oil battery operation and production experience
• Artificial lift and well completion experience and knowledge
• Flowline / pipeline operation experience
• Working knowledge of Alberta (ERCB) operational regulations
• Working knowledge of Scada systems
• EOR including CSS and SAGD experience
• Coiled tubing experience
• Grade 12 graduate
• 2 year technical diploma in a related field
• Must possess a valid Class 5 or Class 1 driver’s license
