Company Profile

Oilflow Solutions is a private company with its operating base in Calgary, and is owned by its management, Advanced Gel Technology Limited, and SGAM/4D Global Energy Development Capital Fund II plc.

Developed by a team of scientists and researchers in a British University, the Proflux technology became recognized as a potential ‘game changer’ for the heavy oil industry in 2003 through intense research and development efforts.

Our vision: A Proflux application in every heavy oil field.


Oilflow Solutions was formed in 2005 in Aberdeen, Scotland, to develop and commercialize the technology, since Aberdeen is known as one of the global centers of excellence in oil and gas activities. While in Aberdeen, the Proflux technology was awarded the acclaimed CEFAS ‘Gold’ ranking, a certification for environmental protection in the North Sea, under OCNS, Offshore Chemical Notification Scheme.

In 2007, Canada was identified as a key ‘core market’ for the application of Proflux. In order to strategically focus efforts on this marketplace, Oilflow Solutions Canada was formed in 2008 where the centre of operations was established in Calgary.

Today there are operations across northern Alberta with supporting R&D laboratories in Calgary, and field service centres in Peace River and Lloydminster.
